Privacy policy

Act It Out licenses a drama program to dance studios and early learning centres. This policy explains what we collect when you use our website or our program, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do about it.
We are an Australian business and we handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
When you enquire or book a chat. Your name, email address, phone number, post code, and the type of organisation you run. If you book a call, the time you chose and anything you write in the booking notes.
When you become a licensee. Your business name, your ABN, the name and email of the person who pays, and the name and email of the person who logs in. Payment card details go straight to Stripe and are never stored by us.
When you use the program. Login details, which lessons have been opened, and anything you send us through the app or by email.
Notes we make. We keep notes against your record so we know where a conversation is up to, for example that you asked about a semester two start, or how you heard about us. You can ask to see these. See Getting a copy.
Automatically, as you browse. Your IP address, browser and device, the pages you visit, and how you arrived. The next section sets out exactly which tools do this.
We do not ask for information about children through this website, and we do not want you to send it to us. The program is delivered to children by your studio or centre, not by us.
Cookies and tracking
We use three third-party tools on the website:

| Meta Pixel | Tells us whether someone who clicked a Facebook or Instagram ad went on to enquire, and lets us show ads to people who have visited before. |
| Microsoft Clarity | Records sessions. It replays how a page was used, including scrolling, clicks and mouse movement, so we can see where the site is confusing. Clarity masks text you type into fields by default, but it is a recording tool and we would rather say so plainly. |
All three set cookies. You can clear or block them in your browser, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on. Blocking them will not stop you using the site.
Why we use it
To answer your enquiry. To run your licence and give your team access. To take payment. To send you things you asked for, like a program guide. To see which pages and which ads are working. To meet our tax and record-keeping obligations.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with other schools or studios.
Who we share it with
We use these services to run the business, and your information passes through them:
- Kajabi — our website, courses, app and email
- Stripe — payments
- Google — Workspace and Analytics
- Meta — advertising
- Microsoft — Clarity
- Calendly — booking calls
- Xero — accounts and invoicing
These providers store and process information overseas, mostly in the United States. By using our site or becoming a licensee you agree to that transfer. We choose established providers, but we cannot control their own security.
We will also disclose information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry records for as long as there is a live conversation and for a reasonable period after, in case you come back. We keep licensee and financial records for seven years, which is what Australian tax law requires. Ask us to delete something and we will, unless we are required to keep it.
Getting a copy, or correcting it
Email [email protected] and ask. You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will reply within 30 days. We do not charge for this.
This includes the notes we have made about you.
Keeping it safe
Access to our systems is limited to the people who need it, and our providers use encryption in transit. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If something goes wrong in a way that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you and we will notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, as the law requires.
If you are not happy
Email [email protected] first and we will try to sort it out.
If you are still not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au, or call 1300 363 992.
Changes
We will update this page when what we do changes, and the date at the top will change with it.
